today is the last day of november- tomorrow is december.
long naps and pumpkin lattes shift to dark nights and the taste of hot chocolate,
the very best of the winter will come and go so quickly, that
there will be hellos and goodbyes, in the holes of favorite
sweaters and worn out oxfords
change- what i want, what i hate.

NP: Where Does the Good Go - Tegan and Sara

CONVERGENCE p. 2!! Ah, these are beautiful, in the most quaint of ways, and evoke a sense of.. flight and freedom, which is exactly what the artist intended for. I love, love, love artists who use light as a means to display creativity. LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY is home aka wherever my soul is. Check out these beautifully constructed figures (made out of chicken wire) by Cedric Le Borgne that have graced various places/festivals in Europe and Korea throughout the years!  Ah, I am definitely a fan, and can not wait to see more when I finish all of these obligatory school assignments that are truly weighing my sanity down. I really would like to see these in-person as well, so if anyone would like to take me on an adventure to England..
Also, while I was at Walgreens today, I was contemplating about buying Christmas lights, because I think I want to delve into some light photography before I handle a new lens and experiment with other techniques. Light photography, for some reason, always makes me feel really connected with my camera. I don't really know why that is is either, but I guess the contrast of complete darkness and fluorescence drives a lot of creativity.. Or maybe not. Who knows?

On to my second cup of coffee, have a great night! ((Instead of writing a term paper loosely related to the 1920s as a whole decade, I'm looking up photos circa the 1920s.. What am I doing with my life?))

AND P.S. OBLIGATORY OF THE DAY

Hahah, these are too great. I do sincerely hope that all the students who were affected at UC Davis this past Friday are doing well.

Too much work due on Wednesday, too little motivation to complete it all.. These are my daily struggles as a professional procrastinator! This week ought to be a great week, minus the fact that I have a term paper/100 pages of Moby-Dick to outline/a bio test (due) on Wednesday! I think we're getting dismissed early, and as an avid participant of my senior class, I am leaving school early and avoiding the prep rally at all costs- really, because I have an alumni interview at three, but the former adds on to my street cred. After my interview, I plan on seeing Happy Feet 2. On Thursday, I'm volunteering early in the morning at a race with a friend, hopefully napping for a bit afterwards, and then going to South Jersey for Thanksgiving dinner! Ah how much I love Thanksgiving : ) On Friday, I'm setting out to Best Buy with my dad to hopefully get a new lens! And on Saturday, if all goes well, I will be hanging out with Alex! I'm really excited to see 1/2 of my only friends. Also, I've been planning my trip to NYC with Jamie and I'm excited for that too. I can't believe 2011 is dwindling down, and it's really starting to sink in that pretty soon, I'll be a high school graduate and setting out to college/tasting the bittersweet nature of the "real world!" I think I'm going to focus on my paper now!
I'm writing about Al Capone, and for some odd reason, I'm really drawn to him, even though he's America's number one gangster, which sort of appeals.. to me? In a way? Not really, but he's super cool anyways? AND I really, really love Moby-Dick as well, so the workload I have to get done shouldn't feel too strenuous.. Anyways, hope everyone's week goes well, and I will post more things about recent inspiration//destinations!

I've experimented with light graffiti and double exposures, but I've never once thought about light projection photography until I glanced at Davis Ayer's portfolio. Projected on human bodies, these photos are a nice blend of elements from film and digital photography; his portfolio is stunning as well, so definitely check it out!
COLLISION OF HISTORY & TECHNOLOGY
Alwyn Collinson, an Oxford history graduate, has begun a six-year project to tweet events from every day of the Second World War as they happened 72 years ago. Maybe to some, that would seem silly and irrelevant, but to me, I find that truly ... amazing. Collinson wants to depict these events in real time, so people today, almost 100 years later, can relate and understand - put themselves in that time period, to be in shoes of people who really lived through WWII- the time period of the late 30s to 40s.
It's really hard for me to articulate to people why history is so appealing to me, because history is the type of ineffable true love that doesn't provide a just answer to anyone's question. (One of these days, I'll try to articulate coherent sentences that explain my one true love, history and *TR*) In the mean time, check out the wonderful twitter, and follow it if you have a twitter account!
This was so adorable. I enjoyed this video so much, and I hope you do too.

Disarray at it's finest. The trees that usually loom over my house and give my parents occasional nightmares during the storm season are being cut down. Bittersweet. Though I do fear for my life occasionally because of the monstrous heights and possible impact the trees potentially could cause, I somehow feel.. sad that they're going to be gone. I've grown up in this house for so many years, and those trees were always apart of my early memories... i.e. riding my bike for the first time, planting the signature trees, raking leaves.. I guess it's time to let go in the name of well-being//decreasing my chances of dying at the tender age of seventeen.
Autumn is fading away quickly, and WINTER is a-coming! Some people are ecstatic, and seem to be super excited for the farewell of pumpkin spice lattes for peppermint mochas/hot choc, but a part of me, a HUGE part, will miss driving around and admiring the autumn foilage. My favorite part of autumn is going on car rides and seeing beautiful colors stream past as I (+company) drive faster then slower then sporadically, through school zones, etc. I drove next to the Delaware River for almost 4 hours, and it was the most relaxing break from reality I had in a long time. I often tell my dad and everyone who brings up my name and driving in the same sentence that I am afraid of getting behind the wheel, but after this drive, I feel more confident and comfortable.

I haven't been posting much these days, but I can feel that TODAY was the start of something new.. Actually, last night was, but ANYWAYS! Yesterday, I went to the South Jersey Penang(which sucked btw) and celebrated a 30th birthday! The Penang in South Jersey has the potential to be..a  suave, epic, super hip hot spot, but it's just too dark and creepy to actually fulfill THAT potential! The food doesn't even compete with the Chinatown Penang, so there's the second problem; the service wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. Overall, a so-so experience that ended with a rap via my birthday card, then a long nap in the car which led to snuggling/falling asleep in my bed at 9PM. After school today, I went to Pho with some of my favorite people, got french fries at Wendys (new McDonalds sucks BTW!) and now I have to figure out a way to communicate with one of my friends so he can teach me calculus! I was supposed to receive my phone in the mail today, but so far, no sign of the UPS man  ..TOMORROW, I am going back to work from an on-and-off - more, off - hiatus of three months.. On Sunday, I'm going to see BEIRUT! Ah, so exciting! I have a lot of school work/studying to do before Sunday 6PM though, so I have to abstain from the typical procrastinating.. Err, well on Wednesday, I'm visiting Lehigh Uni, then on Friday, Happy Feet 2 is coming out! I'm actually seeing my school play instead. I'm really excited for the next two weeks!
